It's not like he'd have the moral high ground in that situation, seeing as how he's the monster who let his granddaughter die of neglect before he even bothered to learn her name.
I really hope he does find out at some point; I know she's going to forgive them and shit, but at the very least I want to see some knife twisting.

Babies cannot become independent.
Me: *flashback to crawling years* The fuck are you on about?
This dead horse started getting beaten 60 chapters ago, but I'll never stop beating it.

Kudos to them for trying so hard to be family and all, but like, I'm still holding a grudge for how they treated her 60+ chapters ago. They haven't actually apologized (as far as I can remember) and until they do I refuse to believe they actually think they did anything wrong. Either that or they're just idiots who think they're above apologizing, which might be worse actually.

I like Hela’s introspection.  That she is tempted to stay and is starting to value the affection and things she did not get the first life says so much.  I just want more time with her cousin.

What are they on about?!? They're being all caring and gentle, but.... Like... That's closing the barn door after the horses are gone. Shelina died. An infant died alone in a filthy, dusty room. She died of neglect and starvation... It likely took weeks. She was too weak to even cry... It's heartbreaking and disgusting. Hela didn't steal anything, she got sucked into an empty vessel.

Unpopular opinion I'm sure but, I don't hate on the grandfather and uncle. When she was neglected, the family was grieving and the baby was put in the care of the staff. I'd like to think they assumed she was being properly cared for. When they found out she wasn't, the situation was immediately rectified. Now notice the distinct lack of female family in the house. The women ran the estate and mourning or not, they would have checked on an infant in the house because that's how women are built. Sure they should have at least checked on her at some point but I feel they thought she was being cared for as a blood relative even if she was not in the family registry. And that's without even getting started on delving into all the family history, drama and trauma that shaped these men. Once they got out of their own heads, their behavior changed.

Currently trying to figure out why so many think the original baby died, we saw from the beginning that the maids, despite being pieces of shit always came and fed her everyday. It was even mentioned by the maids in one of the early chapters how she has it lucky that despite being illegitimate she gets fed everyday. The maids stopped coming after they got scolded by the duke and uncle, probably because the maids were little fucking bitches. It was also mentioned how when she did not have access to her pacifier one time she lost two months, she couldn't remember much of what happened. Who's to say she is the original baby but her mind did not come through till she got the pacifier in the first place. Yes they did neglect her, but it was mentioned in the earlier chapters that she was fed regularly and that they did not know that the maids stopped coming because mismanagement by the head of staff. Yes are they not the greatest, that is correct. But I truly do not think they knew of the absolute clusterfuck her caregiver situation was. Sure they have a lot to make up for, and I mean a lot. But it is nice to see them try.

I am want to address how Hela's mindset is slowly changing. She spent her entire first life surviving. Her master, her surroundings, and her apprentice. Each and every one of them were people that she never truly opened her heart to because she was too independent, unwilling to bend for anyone or ever truly accept into her heart and be vulnerable to.
It made her a strong and powerful woman that earned the respect of even people that opposed her, but by the same stroke, made her incredibly lonely. Now that she's an infant, now that she's being protected, and she's being praised and cared for like a loved one, she's slowly finding genuine comfort. Like she doesn't need always have her guard up.
The story is that apart from Vera, the grandfather and uncle both have a lot of blood on their hands. Maybe not as much as Hela does, cause she was a monster that slaughtered many innocent people. But the point is that they all have the capacity to grow, change, and learn to become better. While I am angered that the family left Shelina to die as they did, and hope that they do learn the truth and feel guilt from it, I want them all to learn to grow and become a happy family by the end.

Honestly, I wonder if anyone's hands in the Klaune family are free of bloodshed besides big little brother. I'm also wondering if, as long as she doesn't kill more/a lot of people with her dark magic, will it remain dormant or at least manageable.
